Project Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Scheduling, prioritizing and tracking internal technical assignments and project details;

- Organizing dailies, rounds and project meetings;

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create textures according to references provided by the client;

- Produce UV's of the assets to be textured; 

- Responsible for shading assets with or without texture in Arnold for Houdini;

- Create the final version of a textured model in Arnold for Houdini;

- Produce photorealistic elements while respecting the established technical and aesthetic standards of on going projects (film or television series).

Junior Tracking Layout and Matchmove

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with the tracking and modeling departments to ensure accurate camera tracking;

- Recreate set, object and camera movements of a shot based on supplied set data, survey information and cameras from the tracking department;

- Execute camera and character staging and blocking;

- Layout and finalize cameras, projection plates and environments for the other departments;

- Prepare elements produced by external partners (ingest) for publication.

Mid-Senior Compositing Artist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Create high-quality digital composites and visual effects for live-action feature films;

- Produce high-level photorealistic images and create seamless transitions between filmed footage and composited 2D and 3D elements;

- Establish looks and/or follow set style direction;

- Work with the visual effects supervisor, the compositing supervisor & the CG supervisor to develop creative and technical approaches;

- Collaborate with other compositors to ensure shots are delivered to highest quality standard and on schedule;

- Coach and advise less experienced digital composers, pass on knowledge and techniques;

- Demonstrate a high level of scrutiny for technical checks.

- 5+ years live-action feature film composting experience;

- Work closely with the different production teams to create high level visual effects;

- Determine, modify or maintain the most efficient technical approach and workflow possible;

- Design and implement the technical, artistic pipeline and workflow, and made sure the tools for the project are up to the task.

- Experience on large-scale projects in the visual effects industry;

Lighting Artist

- Design and create photorealistic CG lighting to meet the project’s technical and aesthetic standards;

- Collaborate with other artists/departments to achieve assets look development; Work towards shot completion in collaboration with the shot compositor

- Troubleshoot creative and technical issues, optimize rendering.

- Experience with HDRs and image based lighting;

Compositing Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Plan, manage and supervise all of the 2D related aspects of a VFX production;

- Provide clear direction to all CG departments, setting clear objectives and monitoring the process, progress and results;

- Ensure precise management of the 2D tasks related to a project in collaboration with production: needs assessment, schedule planning, proper distribution of tasks;

- Provide creative and technical support to the 2D artists working on the project;

- Work closely with the different production teams  to establish the best methodologies required for the project;

- Ensure that deliveries are made according to the project's quality standards;

- Work with the 2D department lead to improve the quality of the pipeline and increase resources for the 2D department.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Minimum 7 years of experience in animation / VFX post-production;

- 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisor position or head of department of a compositing team;

- In-depth understanding of the entire VFX pipeline, with specific skills in digital compositing;

Character TD - Rigging Artist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Develop rigs and user-friendly control mechanisms for the animation department;

- Provide support to the animation department throughout production;

- Write automation scripts for production;

- Integrate rigs into the production pipeline;

- Work closely with modeling, R&D and animation teams;

- Develop and support tools to support the animation department.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- A minimum of 3 years of character rigging experience is required;

- The candidate must be creative and be able to develop new processes and systems to meet the production’s different needs;

- Must be comfortable with developing organic systems for characters (traditional weighting, muscle simulation, facial animations, etc.) as well as with developing mechanical systems (objects, vehicles, machines, etc.);

- Experience using simulation tools is a big asset (hair, cloth, muscle system, etc.);

The FX Technical Director is responsible for creating a range of natural and supernatural phenomena such as water, fire, smoke, destruction as well as magical effects. He / she works in conjunction with other departments to ensure that assigned tasks are completed.
 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Excellent knowledge of Houdini and the use of fluids, cloth, particles and/or rbd’s;

- A thorough understanding of simulation techniques and technologies relating to effects;

- A good working knowledge of Mantra and/or Arnold;

- Excellent general knowledge of Houdini. (Pyro, RBD, Flip, Vellum…);

- Good understanding of the lighting and compositing process;

- Good understanding of the other departments (modeling, animation, rigging…);

- Experience in team management is essential;

- Experience in CFX (clothing and hair simulation) and crowd simulation an asset;
