- Develop rigs and user-friendly control mechanisms for the Animation department;
- Provide support to the Animation department throughout production;
- Write automation scripts for production;
- Integrate rigs into the production pipeline;
- Work closely with modeling, R&D and animation crews;
- Develop and support tools to support the animation department.
- A minimum of 5 years of character rigging experience is required;
- The candidate must be creative and be able to develop new processes and systems to meet the production’s different needs;
- Must be comfortable with developing organic systems for characters (traditional weighting, muscle simulation, facial animations, etc.) as well as with developing mechanical systems (objects, vehicles, machines, etc.).
Additional:
- Experience using simulation tools is a big asset (hair, cloth, muscle system, etc.);
- Excellent knowledge & working experience of Houdini is also an asset.
- Work closely with VFX Supervisor, Producers, artists and other necessary departments in creating high quality visual effects;
- Provide clear direction to all CG departments, setting clear objectives and monitoring the process, progress and results;
- Clearly brief developers on R&D and pipeline requirements;
- Determine, modify and maintain the most effective and efficient technical approach and workflow possible;
- Lead the Technical Directors (TDs) in solving day-to-day issues, and pro-actively eliminate potential problems in pipeline tools before they impact the production;
- Design and implement the technical, artistic pipeline and workflow, and made sure the tools for the project are up to the task.
- 5 years of work experience as a supervisor in a film/TV with the ability to ensure artists work is of a high standard both artistically and technically;
- Excellent organizational, communication and project management skills;
- Knowledge of Python scripting considered a strong asset;
- Excellent CG skills including a good understanding of modeling, texturing, look development, lighting and colour, particles, fluids and dynamics.
- Thorough understanding of the various technical and creative aspect of production for CG animation;
- Complete understanding of all areas of 3D and understanding of the 2D pipeline is essential;
- Proven team leadership, strong motivational skills and willingness to share knowledge;
- Previous experience with team management and task assignment;
- Ability to work under tight deadlines;
- Positive and team oriented;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent attention to details.

- Excellent working knowledge of Houdini and Arnold is an asset
- Manage ticket and service requests;
- Ensure optimal response time and efficient claim resolution;
- Ensure a follow up with requests for assistance;
- Provide technical lookout on the floor;
- Offer courteous and efficient customer service.
- Keep the IT inventory up to date;
- Configure and optimize Linux, Microsoft Windows & Apple OS X workspaces
- Install and configure office and production software;
- Activate and install licenses;
- Implement existing IT processes.
- College diploma (DEC) or technical degree in information systems management, or equivalent;
- Professional experience in technical support, an asset;
- Experience in the film and special effects industry is an asset;
- Knowledge of Linux, Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X, platforms
- Prop and camera animation;
- Matchmove.
- Minimum 6 years experience;
- Excellent and realistic character and creature animation skills;
- Ability to manage complex scenes;
- Thorough knowledge of 3D animation techniques;
- Good knowledge of 3D in general (modeling, lighting, simulation);
- Very good knowledge of 3D animation software, preferably Maya;
- Familiar with motion builder and character rigging;
- Excellent communicator who is able to both provide and receive critical feedback;
- Must have a positive team approach.

Additionnal:

- Rigging experience is an asset.
- Design and create realistic simulations & renders of various visual effects such as fire, smoke, water, etc.;
- Create realistic rigid body, soft body and deformation simulations;
- Collaborate with other departments in order to assemble complex CG scenes;
- Work towards shot completion in collaboration with the Lighting artist & shot Compositor;
- Troubleshoot creative and technical issues, and optimize rendering.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in the film and visual effects industry is required;
- Must have a highly creative mind and be able to envision complex SFX scenes for feature films;
- Must be able to use particle systems and dynamics, fluids, soft bodies, rigid bodies, and cloth dynamics;
- Strong sense of design and composition and a strong understanding of animation and of how things should look, “feel” and move.
Additional:
- Good knowledge of Houdini, Maya (nParticles and Mel Scripting), or other experience with simulation of Fluids, Soft and Rigid Bodies, hair, cloth, fur, is an asset.
