CG Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Work closely with the different production teams to create high level visual effects;

- Provide clear direction to all CG departments, setting clear objectives and monitoring the process, progress and results;

- Act as a liaison between production and the various technical departments;

- Determine, modify or maintain the most efficient technical approach and workflow possible;

- Design and implement the technical, artistic pipeline and workflow, and made sure the tools for the project are up to the task.

- Experience on large-scale projects in the visual effects industry;

VFX Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- In collaboration with the VFX producer, manage the technical and creative teams in order to create high level visual effects;

Compositing Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Plan, manage and supervise all of the 2D related aspects of a VFX production;

- Provide clear direction to all CG departments, setting clear objectives and monitoring the process, progress and results;

- Ensure precise management of the 2D tasks related to a project in collaboration with production: needs assessment, schedule planning, proper distribution of tasks;

- Provide creative and technical support to the 2D artists working on the project;

- Work closely with the different production teams  to establish the best methodologies required for the project;

- Ensure that deliveries are made according to the project's quality standards;

- Work with the 2D department lead to improve the quality of the pipeline and increase resources for the 2D department.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Minimum 7 years of experience in animation / VFX post-production;

- 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisor position or head of department of a compositing team;

- Possess a creative mind and sense of aesthetics;

- In-depth understanding of the entire VFX pipeline, with specific skills in digital compositing;

VFX Editor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Project editorial follow-ups and support the production team;

- Keep all footage and shots up to date with the latest client information;

- Recreate editorial effects such as timewarps and cropping and publish them for artists;

- Maintain up-to-date editorial information in the databases;

- Ensure that the files received and imported into our pipeline comply with references and client specifications (eg: timing, resolution and colorimetry);

- Work closely with in-house production, artists and other support departments by providing advice, references, information and files as needed;

- Validate the editorial of internal versions (resolution, framing, timing, colorimetry) and help artists resolve disparities related to client references;

- Participate in the delivery process by creating in context cuts and ensuring that the material sent matches the customer's specifications.
 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Excellent knowledge of Hiero and Nuke Studio;

- Ability to familiarize yourself with the Autodesk Flame timeline and learn internal management tools;

- Working knowledge of editorial databases;

Character TD- Rigging Artist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Develop rigs and user-friendly control mechanisms for the animation department;

- Provide support to the animation department throughout production;

- Write automation scripts for production;

- Integrate rigs into the production pipeline;

- Work closely with modeling, R&D and animation teams;

- Develop and support tools to support the animation department.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- A minimum of 3 years of character rigging experience is required;

- The candidate must be creative and be able to develop new processes and systems to meet the production’s different needs;

- Must be comfortable with developing organic systems for characters (traditional weighting, muscle simulation, facial animations, etc.) as well as with developing mechanical systems (objects, vehicles, machines, etc.);

- Experience using simulation tools is a big asset (hair, cloth, muscle system, etc.);

- Excellent knowledge & working experience of Houdini and Golaem is also an asset.

Project Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Scheduling, prioritizing and tracking internal technical assignments and project details; 

- Organizing dailies, rounds and project meetings;

- Organizing and setting up media for Cinesync / client review sessions;

- Ensuring tasks statuses and assignments are kept up to date; 

- Coordinating and packaging shot deliveries including submission documentation;

- Recording all shot notes from clients, dailies, rounds and / or Cinesyncs;

- Coordinating and monitoring multiple projects;

- Ensuring project scope, status and completion information are up to date;

- Documenting decisions and requests, and ensuring items are tracked and coordinated appropriately;

- Monitoring and reporting progress, issues and preparing reports;

- Ensuring work is being approved and completed on time and according to specifications.
 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Excellent scheduling and task management skills;

- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to problem solve effectively in a fast paced environment;

- Create simulation setups to create realistic crowds using 3D software;

- Establish on-going communication with artists, leads, production and supervisors regarding schedules, deadlines and shot/sequence feedback;

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with tracking and modeling departments to ensure accurate camera tracking;

- Recreate set, object and camera movements of a shot based on supplied set data, survey information and cameras from the tracking department;

- Execute camera and character staging and blocking;

- Layout and finalize cameras, projection plates and environments for other departments.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The FX Technical Director is responsible for creating a range of natural and supernatural phenomena such as water, fire, smoke, destruction as well as magical effects. He / she works in conjunction with other departments to ensure that assigned tasks are completed.
 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Excellent knowledge of Houdini and the use of fluids, cloth, particles and/or rbd’s;

- A thorough understanding of simulation techniques and technologies relating to effects;

- A good working knowledge of Mantra and/or Arnold;

- Excellent general knowledge of Houdini. (Pyro, RBD, Flip, Vellum…);

- Good understanding of the lighting and compositing process;

- Good understanding of the other departments (modeling, animation, rigging…);

- Experience in team management is essential;

- Excellent problem solving skills;

- Experience in CFX (clothing and hair simulation) and crowd simulation an asset;

- Experience with Python an asset;

- Previous film industry experience essential.

– Strength in animation tool creation;

– Ability to support the animation team technically;

– Autonomy to run shots in Maya for testing purposes;

– Expertise in: shot based problem solving, optimization and analyzing pipeline issues;

– Excellent scripting knowledge: Python, Mel & Maya API (OpenMaya, OpenMaya2 & Pymel);

- Proven experience modeling, assembling and managing large photo-real CG environments;

- Have a sharp eye for photo-realism and composition;

- Have the ability to work and solve technical issues independently;

- Strong willingness to grow, learn new methods and share knowledge with other team members;

- Team player able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL:

- Experience developing simple tools in Clarisse;
