Crowd Artist

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create simulation setups to create realistic crowds using 3D software;

- Work collaboratively with the team to determine the best possible technical and creative approaches to facilitate the workflow;

- Troubleshoot technical challenges and execute solutions effectively;

- Establish on-going communication with artists, leads, production and supervisors regarding schedules, deadlines and shot/sequence feedback;

- Be able to deliver work within established project targets and high quality standards.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Minimum 2 years of crowd experience in a VFX Studio;

- Excellent knowledge of Houdini and Maya;

- Excellent knowledge of Golaem;

- Knowledge of Vex and Python;

- Basic knowledge of Arnold is an asset;

- Good knowledge of FX (rbd, pyro, flip), also an asset.

Mid-Senior Texture Artist

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in creating textures and CG photorealistic elements in the film and visual effects industry;

- Have a sharp eye for photorealism;

- Be a power user of Mari and / or Substance Painter and Photoshop;

- Be an expert at using the appropriate methods in order to reach the deadlines and optimize render times;

- Have the ability to take direction, follow established techniques and work in a team oriented environment.

ADDITIONAL:

- Knowledge of Arnold materials for Houdini;

- Knowledge of Houdini, Nuke and Maya, an asset;

- Experience in matte painting, shading & look development, also an asset;

- Leadership experience is a plus.

Mid-Senior Camera Matchmove Artist

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with tracking and modeling departments to ensure accurate camera tracking;

- Recreate set, object and camera movements of a shot based on supplied set data, survey information and cameras from the tracking department;

- Execute camera and character staging and blocking;

- Layout and finalize cameras, projection plates and environments for other departments.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- A minimum of 2 years work experience in the film and VFX industry;

- Excellent knowledge of 3DEqualizer;

- Knowledge of Maya;

- Experience with Nuke is an asset.

FX TD

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The FX Technical Director is responsible for creating a range of natural and supernatural phenomena such as water, fire, smoke, destruction as well as magical effects. He / she works in conjunction with other departments to ensure that assigned tasks are completed.
 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Excellent knowledge of Houdini and the use of fluids, cloth, particles and/or rbd’s;

- A thorough understanding of simulation techniques and technologies relating to effects;

- A good working knowledge of Mantra and/or Arnold;

- Excellent general knowledge of Houdini. (Pyro, RBD, Flip, Vellum…);

- Good understanding of the lighting and compositing process;

- Good understanding of the other departments (modeling, animation, rigging…);

- Experience in team management is essential;

- Excellent problem solving skills;

- Experience in CFX (clothing and hair simulation) and crowd simulation an asset;

- Experience with Python an asset;

- Previous film industry experience essential.

Production TD - Animation

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS: 

– Must have at least 3 years work experience in the film and VFX industry;

– Must be a Maya power user;

– Strong knowledge of animation, rigging and CFX workflows;

– Strength in animation tool creation;

– Ability to support the animation team technically;

– Autonomy to run shots in Maya for testing purposes;

– Expertise in: shot based problem solving, optimization and analyzing pipeline issues;

– Excellent scripting knowledge: Python, Mel & Maya API (OpenMaya, OpenMaya2 & Pymel);

– Ability to follow established techniques and work in a team oriented environment;

– 3D Animation or rigging experience a plus;

– Knowledge of Houdini is an asset;

– Knowledge of C++, PyQt and Pycharm, also an asset.

Environment TD / Artist - Clarisse

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as an Environment artist or TD for live action feature films and / or television series;

- Extensive production experience on Clarisse;

- Proven experience modeling, assembling and managing large photo-real CG environments;

- Have a sharp eye for photo-realism and composition;

- Have the ability to work and solve technical issues independently;

- Strong willingness to grow, learn new methods and share knowledge with other team members;

- Team player able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL:

- Experience developing simple tools in Clarisse;

- Scripting is as asset;

- Shading & lighting experience is also an asset;

- Experience with procedural city generation and scattering tools, an advantage.
