Hybride announces the departure of Pierre Raymond Co-Founder, President and CEO

Michel Murdock, Co-founder and current Executive Vice President will take the lead

Today, Hybride announced that its President and CEO, Mr. Pierre Raymond, will be stepping down after 30 years at the helm of the organization to pursue his career as senior advisor and ambassador, investing in new strategic challenges for both Hybride and Ubisoft.

“When we began this adventure there were four of us. We had all the energy we needed with enough passion to follow a vision that proved to be successful, propelled by a carefully chosen team”, says Pierre Raymond. Along the way, numerous artists, technicians, engineers and seasoned administrators have joined the four founding partners, bringing their expertise, creativity and technical genius, which have played a key role in the studio’s ability to produce some of the most memorable visual effects of the last 30 years.

“This was not an easy decision to make, but I believe it is the right time,” says Raymond. “I would like to thank Ubisoft for the confidence they’ve shown me and extend a special thank you to all my colleagues at Hybride for the support I have received throughout this fabulous adventure. I have been blessed to be able to work with such an amazing team for all these years and I salute all those who have helped make Hybride the company it is today. I am very proud of everything that we’ve accomplished together and I obviously remain greatly attached to this company that we founded in 1991 in the heart of the beautiful Laurentians, ” adds Raymond.

"I am now giving way to my successor, Mr. Michel Murdock, Co-founder and Executive Vice President at Hybride, with whom I have been working since the very beginning and who will take on these responsibilities from now on as President. I have full confidence in his ability to continue to grow the studio with his in-depth knowledge of the industry and our shared long-term vision. I would like to send a special thank you to my colleagues from the early days, who not only supported a vision which has proven to be successful in the long term, and who, today, propel it even further,” he concludes.

MICHEL MURDOCK

“Pierre has successfully navigated many challenges over the last 30 years. Constantly driven by innovation and creativity in an industry that is continuously reinventing itself, he has made Hybride one the most respected visual effects companies in film and television today and it is thanks to Pierre’s dedication and leadership that Hybride will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year”, says Michel Murdock.

“As a founding member, it is with a great deal of emotion that I salute my partner who is stepping down from the helm of the company following a year that has brought its share of new challenges. Despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic, his experience and expertise not only allowed Hybride to continue its operations, but also allowed to reinvent itself once again, which is quite impressive considering the many hurdles the transition to working from home created for visual effects studios.”

“The whole team, as well as myself, will continue to build on this wonderful legacy to push the limits of our industry with Pierre still by our side—in a position that is certainly different, but no less strategic, " he concludes.
