To welcome the new members of its growing team, Hybride, whose headquarters are located in Piedmont in the Laurentians, has set up its new creative space in the same building as Ubisoft, on St-Laurent Street. The opening of a satellite office in Montreal represents a logical step in the studio’s business development. Hybride currently employs over 100 team members in its studios in Piedmont. The new Montreal offices, which will remain under the responsibility of the parent company, will allow the company to continue its business development strategy by strengthening its capacity to take on an ever-increasing workload.
"In recent years, Montreal has become one of the world’s VFX Hub and right now, the recruitment potential is significant," said Pierre Raymond, President and Head of Operations at Hybride. "Having offices in Montreal instantly gives us access to a wider talent pool. For our studio, this represents an increased capacity to take on additional workloads all the while maintaining the level of quality for which Hybride is recognized,” explained Mr. Raymond. “This new workspace will allow artists who live in the greater metropolitan area to join the Hybride team, whose reputation is well established, and work on major projects," Raymond added.
A well-filled order book
First digital studio in Quebec, Hydride’s curriculum is an impressive one. The company has contributed its expertise to over 1,000 advertising campaigns and more than 60 international mega productions. Among some of its most memorable contributions to the film industry are several blockbusters such as Sin City, 300, Avatar, The Hunger Games and Jurassic World.
More recently, Hybride was entrusted to craft seamless VFX for several sequences for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which received five Oscar nominations, including one for “Best Visual Effects”. The studio has also produced VFX for the very popular television series, Black Sails: Season 3, which premiered on Starz! and Super Channel on January 23rd.
Several other projects scheduled for release in 2016 are currently underway, such as Warcraft, and Story of Your Life from Quebec filmmaker Denis Villeneuve. With such a busy production schedule, the next few years will definitely be very promising for Hybride, and it’s with great enthusiasm that they foresee the opening of these new offices.
